Born in Baton Rouge,LA, I am the youngest of 3 children. My parents, sister,brother and I are all products of the public schools of Broward County. After graduating from Florida Atlantic University, I began my teaching career in 1993 at Oakridge Elementary in Hollywood,FL. While teaching at Oakridge, I met my husband who is also an educator (and also a product of Broward public schools). Since then, I have had the pleasure of teaching many different types of students in several public schools in Broward County. My experience includes teaching grades 2, 4 and 5, receiving my Master's Degree in School Counseling, and the honor of being named Floranada's 2004 Teacher of the Year.
My husband and I were blessed with two sons, 13 and 11. They currently attend Sunrise Middle School. Our family also includes 2 cats and a dog. As a family, we enjoy baseball, family time and long vacations at the family get away on the Chesapeake Bay. We are all voracious readers!
